Curriculum Highlights

Divine Redeemer School uses the Image of God Series by Ignatius Press.  It is based on St. John Paul II's Theology of the Body, that each person is made in the image of God, deserving to be loved.


5th Grade is focused on Our Mission of Love:  

  • We explore who God is as Father.

  • Who Jesus is as Prophet, Priest and King, and our call to love as Prophet, Priest, and King.

  • We come to understand the Church and Her Sacraments.

  • Finally we focus on Prayer, and understanding the Liturgical Year.


6th Grade is focused on God's Merciful Love in the Old Testament:

  • We journey through Salvation History starting with how the Bible is put together.

  • Then we walk through the Old Testament starting with Genesis, and ending with the Wisdom Books.

  • Students memorize all the names of the 46 books from the Old Testament.


7th Grade is focused on Jesus, the Way, the Truth, the Life:

  • We explore who God is in the Blessed Trinity.

  • We come to understand Creation and the uniqueness of the human person.

  • We learn what it means to love as God calls us through two personal loving communions.

  • We focus on human sin, and God's Redeemer's role in saving us.

  • Finally, we explore Mary's role in our salvation.

  • Students read 2x/month to the kindergarten students


8th Grade is focused on preparation for Confirmation:

  • We use the Image of God Series, but supplement the curriculum with Matthew Kelly's Decision Point program put out by Dynamic Catholic.

  • The sacramental classes, 8th & 2nd grade are paired up as prayer buddies through out the year to pray and support one another.
