Out & About
We believe real-life experiences enrich classroom academics.
Charleston Museum
7th social studies curriculum is enhanced by a visit to the museum.
Middleton Plantation
The 8th graders were better able to comprehend life on a plantation by visiting a plantation and having the history retold by the guides. This reinforced their unit on how the southern economy was so reliant upon rice and the circumstances of African-American enslaved people.
Hanahan Library
Our K5s took a stroll to our local library. At Divine Redeemer, we know the power of good book. We strive to develop a love of reading early, knowing that it is the key to a vibrant future. Our K5s had a great day meeting the librarians, seeing the many resources of a good library, and getting some fresh air along the way.
Serpentarium & Botany Bay
3rd and 4th graders got a well deserved break at the end of the year with a day hanging out with reptiles and having a blast on the beach at Botany Bay.
Hunley Submarine
Our students took advantage of visiting the Hunley submarine which is super close to our campus. This was a two-fold learning opportunity: the science behind the raising of the vessel and the delicate restoration and preservation process, as well as, the history of the first submarine used in battle.
Charleston Aquarium
¡No todo fue diversión durante esta visita al acuario! Como puedes ver, se trataba de una clase de ciencias fuera del campus en la que se aprendía sobre los sistemas de agua.
